I was reading in a London blog that this is what comes from having a consumer economy with chronic under-employment. People get educated for good jobs that don't exist and have to pay off student loans that would buy a nice house with n income that barely pays the rent.

Opus.....partly the reason. That said, this damage was simply the work of criminal vandals and thieves. Lots of people have poor paid jobs and don't go around stabbing and robbing designer goods. Don't ever give up searching for the fun in life.
