Content Filter Update

Content Filter Update Males and couples will not experience a change in their filter settings -- they default to 'Nasty,' the same as the previous 'OFF.' Female members will default to 'Naughty,' but can easily change this setting to 'Nasty' or 'Nice.' We are not censoring any content on the site. Our previous filters were just 'Off' and 'On'-- 'Off' showing you all content, and 'On' showing you only Pg and Pg-13 rated content. The only new setting is 'Naughty,' which lets you see almost everything, except that is places a filter over photos that are rated as 'genital shot' (close-ups of genitalia). This is just an extra option allowing users to filter what they see to suit their comfort level, and in no way affects the Nice (ON) or Nasty (OFF) filters. Prior to the change, many users expressed an interest in having this third option to view sexy content without the blatant genital close-ups. To users who have complained of seeing a blank screen when they update their settings, we are sending you an email to your registered email address to assist you with this issue. This occurs if you're using an older browser that doesn't support overlays well. The spinner interferes and freezes up the page. We are removing the overlay and the spinner to prevent this from happening. Users who mention their settings revert back when you try to change your settings, it's because your settings are not being saved fully. We are adding a visual confirmation that will let you know if the change was a success or failed (in which case, just go back to the settings page and update again).  As always, we recommend using the latest version of your preferred browser for the best experience. |

Aryana, do you look at your own posts? If you did you'd see text down the side of the image you've inserted. This isn't correct - surely you can see that yourself, we can all see it on our own blogs. Please, please, please when you introduce something new can you make sure that it's tested before being rolled out. Every time a new feature is introduced something else goes wrong. This really isn't good enough for a commercial site.

I received your email. I have cleared my cache on IE8 6 times now and the problem remains. I have turned off auto-renew and won't be paying for service. All you have done the past six months in increase prices and cause problems with the new software. I wish the previous owners of the site were still around. They understood why we are here.

You miss my point - this shouldn't happen on a live commercial website to start with. All of these problems should be ironed out before the updates go live. By the way, have you seen the deluge of comments on your other post? Are you listening... Most everywhere else, changes are tested fully, to see if they can "break" the system, therefore working out the kinks before going live. This seems to be a foreign concept to this company. PICTURES NOT CENTERED IN BLOGS... The content filter update adds a line of code to the blog posts as below div class="filter_box" style="position:relative; /div This causes the center command to fail for images.... So can the content filter code writers please recheck their code and style - is it too much to ask, as a paying member of the site that the problem displaying my blogs be fixed immediately by standard IT practice of rolling back a change until the bug is sorted and the code retested - thanks.

I know as I have a copy of before and after - compared the two and removing this line resolves the centering issue.

Im not sure this content filter thingy is working the way it's advertised! For giggles I set my filter to "NICE". My own profile photo is now X'd out. I go to several blogs, some profile photos are X'd out, some blog post photos are X'd out, (but not consistantly)...... When I go to this post [post 3118494] .. I see everything!

I agree, I like it as well. I have to say I am more amazed at the people that think the site is just removing nude photos and don't see it is just a filter. They can still post those photos, but some won't be looking at them.

Just a quick comment on the new filter.... . 1. It seems to work just fine for me, but... . 2. My old filter setting was "OFF," but the new filter defaulted to "Naughty," not "Nasty" as you mentioned in your post, and last time I checked, I was definitely male.  .

The search feature for who is currently online hardly ever works on mobile devices for the full desktop site. Also, searching for new members based on cupid settings gives different results every time you do it and includes members at the top of the results who haven't been online on over 3 months. It's impossible to read emails through the desktop site on mobile devices also Often, when you open a profile in a mobile device, it will not show the test of the profile. Your site is disastrous and is getting more and more disastrous by the day!

The instructions while are clear and has pictures is not clear. I cannot find this drop down on my preferences page where is it? Why dont you just make it an item to appear on the page instead of going through a drop down. Your instruction picture is actually showing the drop down being selected from the community drop down. Mine is set to nasty, but i still see a big black X for a few seconds when i try to view an explicit image, before the image is then shown? Just another measure to slow down the site, and the experience of using the site in my opinion. Really what is the obsession with X on this website? Xmatch, Xhookup, and now big black X filters.  I really think time, money and resources would be much better spent fixing things that the members really want fixing, such as.... 1. Fix the new message centre, or bring back the old one. 2. I don't think there should be a content filter, on an "Adult" website. If some women are complaining about seeing too much cock/pussy, then I don't understand their rationale for creating a membership here, and they should be left to either find another site or accept it. The filter that's been implemented without so much as a community discussion or vote, is nothing more than capitalism at work. Technically: Wow, what a way to increase page load times. Not sure why your tech team thought this was a good idea or acceptable. I would have been fired if our site had these load times. Terrible user experience since all the Xs load, then it read your preference, then the Xs go away, then the images a blank, then the actual images load. As a user of this site for over 10 years. What the HELL, unless this is just going to be a normal Dating site, which it isn't. This was a waste of time and money. I would think keeping the hackers and bots out would be a more wise way to spend money as a company. I go back to terrible user experience with page load times. If people are offended, then they do not belong on this site. Or maybe it is time for the rest of us to find a new website. Leave the site alone. You need to work on keeping the site up and running ALL the time, make sure that you have the best software for streaming video and overall speed up browsing. Well I and a lot of other members here have been asking for profile background bling back for a very long time, but don't see any sign of it returning? Look at these threads..... Instead of adding "new". Fix the old! This site has bugs up the wahzoo! The mobile app's email is not in synch with the desktop's site email. Flash is still needed for IM...and that rarely works. Fix the damn bugs, then start treating paying customers like what we actually are: paying your bills, and keeping you in business. I've opened several support tickets, the latest being "Standard Contacts" not working because standard members weren't able to view me. That took 18 emails back & forth with customer service before it finally got resolved. This is my third profile in the past year. I've had soo many unresolved issues with this site. I can't delete any of my photos. Every time I complain about it, they just send me instructions which I already told them didn't work. The old IT people fixed it the first time, but it took them 3 weeks. The new IT people keep telling me I don't know what I'm doing, and the problem is on my end. They still can't fix it, and that's just 1 issue, there are others. I won't renew when my gold membership expires. I'm done with this site.

Right now I'm glad I'm just a standard member. I'd considered going back to being a Gold Member but changed my mind. I've been a member here for almost three years now. I bought a Gold membership my second year on here and unless a number of things change, I will never be a paying member again. When I joined this site, standard members could view profiles of people in their network. That changed. If I remember right, I think there for awhile standard members could view any profiles, but not videos or photos that were on a profile (except the main profile picture). I was just looking at the prices for memberships. Why are paying members being charged for the "FREE" months they get with membership? Doing the math in my head, the numbers didn't seem right, so I grabbed a calculator. Does "free" not mean the same thing on AsianMatchMate.com that it means everywhere else? I've always thought that "free" meant not having to pay for what was being offered. Instead of filtering pictures intended for ADULTS on AN ADULT SITE, how about offering different filters for chat like you can when searching for people who are looking for the same thing you are? For example, if John Doe is on chat and he's looking for a woman who is looking for a man only those women will show up on his IM screen. Likewise, if Jane Smith is looking to chat with a bisexual female or a lesbian, only women searching for other women will come up on her IM screen. What is up with all of the fake profiles on here lately? For the sake of argument let's say that 75% of the profiles that seem fake are actually on the up and up. I could even understand a few profiles being set up by watchdog groups other peole looking to catch sexual predators and/or human traffickers; if there are any on here I applaud them for doing what they do to make the world a safer place. Awhile back, I received a "flirt" from someone who supposedly lived 5 miles away from the town I live in. Here's the deal: in the area I live in, the closest towns are 15 miles or more away, even going just by the zip code for people living in the country between towns. Another profile I saw when I searched for people near me had a picture of a gorgeous ebony queen that supposedly lives in the same town I do. It immediately sent up a red flag. You see, I live in a very small town with a population of roughly 500 people (according to the signs at either end of town), everyone knows everyone else AND I work at one of the few businesses in town so I see most everyone in town on an almost daily basis. Someone like the woman in that picture would not be able to go unnoticed around here, she was GORGEOUS but very obvious that it was either a fake picture on a real profile or a flat-out fake profile. I think it is a great change! In the biginning it is much more impoortant to me to see someone's eyes than their genitalia. I much prefer to save that for in person. I have personally been telling the 'customer service' people for years both in their forum and on the phone when I have more serious problems, that every time they change something, people leave. I use to hang out in the Texas chat room when there use to be 120 every night, more if certain people were there. Now, its lucky to have more than 40. Yea I know people leave for reasons but to have a chat room have 2/3 less?? and some of those people I do still chat with on facebook and they talk about the changes that made them leave. I've gone back and forth with 'customer service' about the instant messenger here for a good five years. they just don't seem to care to fix that problem.

The content filter is garbage. I'm seeing X's on stuff & I didn't even set it to block anything. I am really skeptical that any women on any online dating or adult sites really want to meet and this site hasn't done anything to change that skepticism. The problem with this site is the fact that when people actually meet someone, its probsbly not good for business. So what do they do, they make it very hard for people to meet or chat. [/SIZE well we now c that this ass clown of a site is screwing every one..hell we though we were just flerting a fuckin machine..this site has pussed to far....and we never asked this site to give a free gold membership...so now we have to pay to filrt with anyone....just like most compamys in this new fucked up world,,if we loved it the way u first made it...when did u fall and screw up the few brain cells u mite of had...leave it alone...or remove all our profile 100 percent. so as u cant make any m,oney of it ...or next time we talk, it will be in a court room...ty...

WHy did you break something that didn't need fixing in the first place. Bring it back the way it was or you'll be losing lots of money and customers. Get your shit together and leave things along. Bring back the old site.

Think you need to concentrate on blocking the bots on the site. Never had any issues until recently. real hassle having to constantly go onto email...report abuse....block user...still nothing done abiut them. ie folk who use revelovero or whatever the hell it is called.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't like the content filter. Anyone using this site is interested in Adult material and those ( if any ) who are not, are in the wrong place. This Filter has caused problems in a number of area's - I can no longer view the additional pictures in Profiles

It's just another STEP toward charging YOU for content filtering later on... SO: you have to pay to be gold, then pay to let standards see you, pay, pay, pay, and then THEY WILL ADD CONTENT FILTER REMOVAL AS A PAID EXTRA...... With all the fakes, scams, and people who misrepresent themselves here, WHY SHOULD I KEEP PAYING FOR THE SITE. I'M GONE WHEN MY MEMBERSHIP EXPIRES...... There are better sites out there!!!

We used to be able to attach our profile to emails so standard members could see it, not anymore. I guess it's another scam to make us pay more eventually. As soon as our membership is over we're out of here. AsianMatchMate.com sucks big time now...wish they would take care of their site a little more seriously and block all the fakes out there.

I can't even view my OWN videos. The counter bar moves but the screen is blank. So are other members videos. I just paid for Gold membership. You guys gotta fix this. Go back to the old way

Hate this new feature! I've turned the filter off but when the webpage loads slow not it takes longer and I still see some X's this sucks! I also feel the same as a lot of people here...this is a site where there are a lot of scammers or photo stealers

Is this not an adult site do we really need the nannies changing every thing. There is only one reason we are on here its for sex and seeing naked people and seeing if we ant to hook up with the sexy naked person in the pic. The message center sucks so does the IM so lets fix this before it really is time to go to a new site.

the content filter is not necessary, people on this site know what they are going to see. bring back the old message/mail system this new one sucks. Also I am pissed that I can no longer view profile videos. Whats up with that? Perhaps you should not have changed things in the first place. It wasn't necessary to fix what wasn't broken.

haha... oh man, these comments are all so true. The fake flirts and views have always been a personal "screw the customer" favorite of mine. I've been on this site for more than 10 years and only up to gold every once in awhile and then get frustrated by all of the crap... definately not going back to gold... this circus is on a crash course. Oh.. another favorite of mine.. I can post ANY comments instantly to facebook but here it takes up to TWO f'ing days to approve my updates which show up EDITED in the end!! haha.. fucking stupid. If I didn't want it in my profile.. i WOULDN'T HAVE SUBMITTED IT.

I was thinking about renewing my membership on this site but now after reading all the comments from other members about the new changes aswell as experincing them myself.i've come to realize that this site is no longer worth renewing the membership.whoever you people are that are in charge of this site and the new changes.just wanna let you know that "YOU SUCK"

ANOTHER totally stupid idea...it doesn't work well, I'm set on 'Nasty' but (OLD) home page pix keep showing as a big ugly black "X", thanks for another BAD idea along with the 'new' home page...suggestion...FIRE all your IT types that are pushing and getting paid for BAD programming!!!!

It would be a decent idea if it worked. I'm not a fan of "dick in the eye" shots, so it would be great if I could turn those off. But even with the naughty setting (no close up genital shots)I still see way too many for my liking. If you are going to make it an option, at least make sure it works.

Der Seitenbetreiber sollten dafür sorgen, dass die Programmierer funktionelle und schlanke Arbeit abliefern, das heisst resourcenschonend. Diese mal hervorragende Seite geht den Bach runter. Erwachsene Mittglieder müssen nicht bevormundet werden. Wie sind freiwillig hier. Ich habe den Eindruck, dass ähnlich wie ihre Partnerseite alt.com ganz deutlich zeigt, der Trend nach unten zeigt. Sie übertreiben die kommerzielle Ausrichtung.
