Extremist activities. What are they?
On one hand, they are anything that a person feels is extreme and certainly they are subjective to each individual.
However, certain activities or levels of activities are generally more extreme and called "Edge Play" or "Extreme Play". All activities have levels or degrees of play, and so, anything can be become extreme or be extreme for a given individual.

Mummification - the practice of body wrapping, usually snug/tightly with rubber, latex, cloth, tape, body bags, and others.
Mummification is easy to do and for that reason easy to get to the higher end toward extreme.
Like all BDSM, TRUST is paramount. Nerves serve as a vanguard signal to both Dom and sub.
Many Doms and subs engage mummification as the next level up from basic or complex bondage. It is a form of total immobilization.
Engaging mummification requires a material to wrap the sub in a tightly snug (not so tight that it prevents lung expansion) cocoon to prevent body movement, leaving several gaps for air and skin breathing and for play.
To make the most of mummification, gaps or holes of various sizes are often left for access to body parts for play such as cbt, tt, anal play, other insertions, and more. Often sensory deprivation is combined with mumification in the 'heavier' or more extreme levels of play.
Air Gaps in Mummification:
Never forget to leave enough open area for the skin to breath as well as, so the sub can breath, to include enough space to expand his/her lungs. Remember that the body expels moisture/sweat, so some clothing, cloth wrap under the rubber, latex, impervious wrap is wise. Every person perspires differently, and this is a very different scene than cutting the grass in the sun. Mouth should always have some access to air. Cock, ass might be left with access as part of the play, mentioned above. Eyes might be covered or not. Nose must given access to air for breathing.
What are your favorite materials?
With mumification, you do not need expensive toys, gadgets, paraphernalia or to spend mega bucks on any special materials from the corner BDSM outlet, or online merchant.
Simple cling wrap will do just fine for wrapping. Just like a little sub sandwich package to go. I'll have mine with a lot of cum on the side. LOL.
You can use old sheets as is or torn in long strips or other basic household items. Duct tape is sometimes use (keep allergies to glue in mind). You can use latex (keep allergies to latex in mind - a common allergy), old shower curtains, old draperires, blankets, etc. I have used a long canvas bag that had some holes and was snug. Be careful what you choose and if there's left over substances inside. 
The boy in the pic is wrapped in a cling wrap, and duct tape is used to easily access or cover his mouth. Cling wrap is easy in that it sticks to itself and renders the sub immobile. It is too easy to get it too tight which restricts lung expansion. Notice that his head and neck are fully exposed, yet the mummification is highly effective. He still has his pants on which allows his skin to expire sweat or pee his pants if that might be the case. Diapers, long underwear are a good easy item to have a sub wear.
Note: large rolls of cling wrap are sold cheap at stores like BJs, COSTCO in the US, Canada, England. There are similar warehouse/merchant stores in Amsterdam, Germany, Poland, Russia and other countries.
BDSM Number 1 rule: ALWAYS Play SAFE:

Always use safe words in all BDSM play.
