COVID-19 In the Workplace It's official... After seven months of dealing with the pandemic, my workplace has finally had it's first positive confirmation. Because of my position within the company, I do know who the person is and I had daily conversations with her. Fortunately with safe distance practices and the other safety measures that we have in place, the health department did not deem anyone within our building as within the guidelines requiring quarantine, but I did choose to freeze my gym membership just in case. While I'm still required to go to work every day.... etc, if something were to change and I did become ill, I don't want to be responsible for spreading it to others. It's going to be interesting, going forward, to see what happens next. I have to say I'm pretty proud of us all, though. Everyone has managed to keep their cool and continue on in the face of this. As my Grandma would always say..... Let's cross that bridge when it gets to us! Well, the bridge is here, now, and we're preparing to cross. Wish us all luck! |

i have a high-risk mother and after seeing her go through chemo, i try to be mindful of the spaces and spaces i go. and i regular test (at least 1x a month) to make sure that i am not asymptomatic. covid is still out there. i don't want to expose her unwittingly. from all i've read some people still experience symptoms long after so i hope your co-worker comes through this a-ok.

Definitely hoping no one else including yourself feels sick or tests positive. I know in my neck of the woods, the whole county has been upgraded to top tier status. Fun! On a personal note , distant family up in Sacramento all contracted covid about two months or so ago. Sadly one family member passed away. Given the current climate it made travel impossible.

I know many people that have tested positive for Covid and have recovered we just need to stay the course it does wear you out keep the faith be safe

As long as we keep doing our safe practices, our chances are good that we'll get through this ok. I have to say, it was kind of a surprise to get the news as we were getting a little lax, but it was a good reminder why we sanitize so much, why we've made everything as touch free as possible, and why we look out for the safety of our fellow peeps.

Maine has had an explosion all of a sudden, thanks to the supreme spreader rallies and the church congregation who think you need to be in church to talk with the lord. The last nasty was a group of anti-masker who are planning to "attack" three stores this Sunday and show the folks that masks dont work. I am very high risk so I am "being have"

In My neck of the woods ; in the K-12 Schools ; all 17 have at least 1 case of it & District Level Office has 2 !!! My Significant Other/Wife informed me last evening that her Store was informed that 2 in Bakery Dept. had tested Positive, Health Dept. & Store Immediately shut down the Entire Dept, sent those that were working home for 10 days with pay !!! Remainder of store was deemed to be Safe & Business as usual !!!

That's not good news McLade......but considering the sector, it's an amazing achievement to have gone so long without a confirmed infection. I hope the person comes out of it okay. By the sounds of things you, your colleagues, your employer, are all doing everything reasonable within your power. Good luck!

First of all, I hope that the lady affected gets through the infection ok. As I think I have said before, being in a shielding situation due to my age and Prostate Cancer I feel fairly safe. However I share the house with my son he has to go to work, and I don't want to crimp what social life he has, just hoping for the best. Wishing you all the luck in the world, crossing that Bridge
