The Importance of Roses
The Importance of Roses elevated_escape sent me a message. Here’s the edited message: Ann… I took a look at some of your writing--you have a beautiful way with words. …you …definitely know how to convey your emotions to your readers….we can sense the underlying tone of pain in your voice…A mailbox and house full of roses. That must have been a really special moment to you. My edited response: My in-laws were amazing people. They raised a wonderful that I fell in love with. You are the first person to mention the underlying tone of pain. I didn't know what it was, but after you mentioned it, you pointed out something I didn't realize. I guess in some ways I'm still grieving. I heard the story of the roses at Mindy's funeral when Mark spoke of his love for her and how much he would miss her. Underneath this wild, sex crazed woman that I've become is a romantic. When Ted and I first started dating he always brought a rose to give me and every day we were married he gave me a rose. While I found it romantic I didn't understand why he did it until Mindy's funeral. Thank you for reminding me. Sometimes I want to be a naive young woman and sometimes I want to be a slut, but I always want to be treated with respect. Ann |

Never forget the love that you both shared with each other while he was on this earth. It was a precious gift that only the two of you shall ever know.
