I'm Saving the Pillow Case
I'm Saving the Pillow Case (this really happened) I’m never going to wash my sheets again. Well, maybe that’s a little unrealistic, but I’m definitely hanging on to the pillowcase just as it is today. I had someone in my bed last night and the smell of her is still on the sheets and pillowcases. It was a wonderful evening and being able to remember it just by smelling where she laid her head makes me fill all warm inside. I’ll wash the sheets, but that pillowcase is a keeper. It’s my new security blanket. I'm not as naive as I used to be. |

Got to love the simple little reminders

I remember several situations where I had the same thoughts and wanted never to change the bedding. The memories stayed fresh in the mind for a long time

The sense of smell is amazing....and those wonderful scents can stir memories long forgotten. Just the other day, I was visiting friends....his wife was baking oatmeal/raisin cookies....as soon as I smelled the aroma, my mind took me back more than 50 years to me gramma's kitchen. I've had many similar situations like your's.... After a lover has left, I can still smell her wonderful scent on my bedding....I'll use the pillow she used for a few days until her scent has faded.....
