Cancer treatment. The story so far.....

Wow. Back again.

For my long suffering regular readers, you may remember that my dear Jess was diagnosed with a tumour where her right kidney should have been. The initial work was done in Texas. Nothing conclusive and then a massive set of medical bills. Over here in England she's finally getting the treatment she deserves.

Jess was scanned properly in a variety of ways and the diagnosis was yes, that she did have a tumour about the size of a regular can of coke where her right kidney should be. It was removed in day surgery last week and now she's home recovering.

I think the tumour was releasing hormones such as adrenaline, keeping her agitated and stopping her sleeping. It's been so for the longest time. To boot, her sickness was showing in her skin, her eyes were always bloodshot. The whites of her eyes have been yellow for the longest time too.
On the day of the surgery, I drove her to the hospital and she was admitted at about 7.30am. Surgery was done during the day and she was ready to go home in the evening. When I collected her she was up and around, albeit slowly. Her eyes clear white again. The feeling of panic and dread she's had for months....gone.

We have to wait about four weeks while the tumour is analysed to see what further treatment she will need. However, so far so good. She's looking forward to going back to work in a week or so.

Yesterday Jess and I visited a local oriental resturant. All you can eat buffet for five pounds. It was wonderful.

Don't ever give up searching for the fun in life.

Glad things are going well so far. Hope Jess feels lots better soon and doesn't need much more treatment, you're both in my thoughts.

Well it's good that her mood has stabilized at any rate. And the jaundice clearing up is also good. Keep us posted.
