Wet n wonderful Birmingham
Wet n wonderful Birmingham Wow......well readers outside the UK will no doubt be pleased to hear about the monsoon style rain we had today in the midlands. I decided against taking the train to work.....stupidly. I thought, "Ohhhh it's not that bad and if I get wet I'll soon dry out." Hmmm....the 26 miles to work was very wet and I did not dry out all day. I had taken the precaution of wearing as little as possible and carrying a change of gear in my rucksac. My bib shorts remained comfortable combined with a simple T shirt. I reached 5 ways island in Brum, wet n sexy but confortable. The cool water running over my body was almost an aphrodisiac. All continued to go well as I progressed towards Spark Hill, then I rode through the mother of all puddles. 3 ft deep. This filled my shoes which had been relatively dry up to that point. After that I stayed wet cold and miserable all day because I'd forgotten to bring a change of socks n shoes. Don't ever give up searching for the fun in life. |

Doubt you will make that mistake again. No commute is by far one of the best bits of working from home.

True, I'll not be making the same mistake again in a hurry. I used to work from home when I was self-employed. You're right about the travelling. However its often a solitary business and I prefer some company even if it does mean 5 hours of commuting a day. Don't ever give up searching for the fun in life.
