Icebreakers - How's It Going Ladies?
Icebreakers - How's It Going Ladies? Last week we launched a new feature for standard women called Icebreakers. What is an Icebreaker? - Woman get a Silver membership in exchange for allowing us to send new men messages, flirts, friend invites and hotlists - These Icebreakers are sent automatically on the woman's behalf to men who are within their cupid settings - Women can turn this feature on or off at any time, it's totally opt-in - Woman can write whatever they want in the message as long as it's not fraud. A lot that I've seen are pretty hot. Many are writing tips for using the site Requirements for Women: - Have to be a standard member (so we can upgrade them to Silver) - Have at least one photo uploaded - Have to write an Icebreaker message (which we review before sending it) How's it going so far?: - It’s now being sent to 25% of men who register. We're moving slowly and seeing how it impacts everyone. - It doesn't look like women are getting bombarded, but let me know your experience. - I've heard from a few posts like ICE BREAKER RESPONSES!! that men are still being men, ignoring the greeting and going straight to "wanna suck my dick baby.". Doesn't this invite fraud? - We wait until a standard female has met certain requirements to make this offer. - So guys who turn around and sign up as women won't get the offer either, at least not right away. - We're not sharing what that period is and we'll be changing it around based on how it's working Do you have your Icebreaker on? What's your experience so far? |

Got a response JUST NOW from a 27 year old that got my 'ice breaker' and he didn't EVEN read it. Sent an 'quick response' of "I am looking for someone older" so he missed out on the cheery welcome and tips on how the site works completely. HE JUST signed up today. The profile has NOTHING. Everything is 'prefer not to say' so I am guessing he came here thinking he was going to get instant whores to service him and 'get laid in 24 hours' and so therefore he didn't NEED to read MY email. I find it funniest of all that they bitch they get no emails then they bitch when they get one, regardless of what it COULD have said.

Thanks for posting this Ryan.
| |||
|
Thank you for posting this, Ryan, am curious to read feedback.
| |||

Go to : My Account - Preferences - Icebreaker preferences. There you can disable, edit, and modify the flirt/hotlist/friend invite settings. For distance check your Cupid settings. My Account - Pefernces - Maximum Distance, this is how 'matches' are determined. However people are saying that Icebreakers are being sent to men outside their distance setting, it would be helpful if you could re-post once you have checked this and confirm if this is the case in your experience.
| |||
|
I'm not sure whether my icebreaker message is being sent out yet. I haven't received any responses to it yet. Granted, my Cupid Settings are fairly narrow, and my message was definitely not sexual. I HAVE noticed that my profile is getting a lot more views now that I'm a Silver Member. It does worry me that women who haven't been on the site very long are being offered a free membership. How do you determine whether you're offering this to all the fakes that you're trying to get rid of? I was hoping that this plan would actually push the fakes out of view by raising the real women up to the top of search results. At any rate, thank you (to whoever thought of this) for the silver. I hope everything works out properly with this.
| |||
|
Thanks for the feature, I hope it stays. I will just choose very narrow cupid setings, if I happen to get too many responses.

Sorcha, that is why I posted what I did. The one guy was 27 and most definitely everything said 'prefer not to say', not one thing was filled out so there was NO WAY of matching anything with what I had. . I have noted as well that my membership has been reduced to one year and I KNOW it said 'lifetime'. . My message is most certainly not one of the whorish examples either, it was actually rather helpful and informative I thought. . Guys, something is not right as these are not getting sent to people matching our Cupid anything.
| |||
|
Okay, here is my feedback. I have been getting a plethora of flirts now. I have had my first email back today regarding the Ice Breaker. This is what he wrote me.... . Message: hi would u like to mess around??? . Ummmm.. yeah.. that is totally NOT what my Ice Breaker said. It specifically said to treat women with respect and we are NOT whores. I also said if it wouldn't work offline it isn't going to work ONLINE and that was all he wrote me in response to it. . For the record, my Ice Breaker does say welcome to the site, please be patient, and gives my preferences. All of which he ignored to just say 'f*ck me', he is 57 not 5.

I think this now a case of a difference between CUPID settings and profile! In cupid you cannot define if there's 'prefer not to say' etc. It's mainly the age and some other basic things. I think that was the point she was making. If you haven't filled anything out, it can't match it with anything at all. I would think, my own opinion, that this person should NOT have gotten an Ice Breaker at all as he did not fill anything out to match it to anyone.

Go to : My Account - Preferences - Icebreaker preferences. There you can disable, edit, and modify the flirt/hotlist/friend invite settings. Cupid Settings are used to determine 'matches' on your behalf. Go to: My Account - Preferences to check and amend Cupid Settings for distance, age range etc etc

I signed up for the ice breaker and have not been bombarded with emails. I would not agree to allow invites or emails just flirts and hotlists. I think it's a great deal for us ladies but may give the guys recieving them a false impression. I think sending a copy of our profile with the icebreaker would be a VERY good idea since my specifically says not to contact me unless they have read my profile. Thanks for posting and checking in with us. Kisses, LeeAnn

One would have to be careful on this Dom. "Not seeking" doesn't mean they are not looking for something. Ionlyshow and Itsallfantasy are two here for exhibitionism only. They ARE looking to get people to 'watch'. How about people that are here to have flirty, naughty emails? Just because they don't want to meet in person doesn't mean they are not looking.
| |||
|
Don't assume every guy is getting your email. We are only going to send one thing to each guy. Maybe it's a hotlist/flirt/email/who's viewed me. We aren't going to send them all to the same guy. Just one of those from you. But this does mean that women have know way of knowing who an Icebreaker has been sent to, which many want to know to avoid confusion. Any chance a copy of Icebreaker can be saved to the woman's outbox as with a normal email ?
| |||
|
What happens when a male doesn't set Cupid preferences ? Will he get more matches for less setting input ?
| |||
|
I know you are considering attaching copy of woman's profile to Icebreaker, I think that would be great and from what I see most women really want this as the guy can't see her profile. Perhaps even as an option then win/win, everybody happy.

We, your readers, knowing about functionallity but the newbies are receiving messages like this: (and then you offer filtering penis?): "...me empujas contra la pared, y me desgarras la ropa porque me quieres tener ahora mismo y no puedes esperar hasta llegar al dormitorio, ese tipo de pasión es lo más sexy que hay. Eso es lo que quiero." - The site suggest me this example of first icebreaker message: "You push me against the wall, you rip my clothes with penetration because you can´t wait before reach the bedroom. That type of passion is the most sexy. That´s i want." - -If you Read only the subtitled you have not any doubt: That´s the perfect description of a . -If you read all, could be interpretated as a message from the slave to hes Master, most appropriate for a sadomasochistic site (and even there, never as a first contact!). -In addition to your guarantee and vulgar propaganda, they get the impression to joining-in a site for fast sex with easy girls. and then how do you expect better behaviours, polites messages, etc with this policy??? The developer of this madness must be a failed Machiavello´s fan. - aah! of course, your solution is attract that type of members, to get upgrades and then, block/filter them. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
| |||
|
I admit, I thought the way it read that the person getting the email would be hotlisted as well, not one OR the other. I do agree, the women in this program SHOULD SEE who you are sending it to so they are not totally in the dark. GOOD IDEA!!
| |||
|
We'll renew the year automatically. Don't worry, if your icebreaker is active, then we will keep you silver. I think the "for life" is more accurate as "for life, as long as you meet the requirements." Which isn't very interesting to say, so we dropped the "for life." Now it just says you'll get a free silver membership if you have an Icebreaker. Plus, if this tanks and people hate it - we're going to pull it. Might be good to change something, the wording or the end date... Only universal or also in Scotland Where to start my day or is it month Of course I39ll change I39ll do whatever you like Heatseeking missiles Squirter's life

i took up the offer, think its great. had alot more interest from people, my only question is when I signed up its said LIFETIME and if i dont change anything will i keep the silver mebership even if AsianMatchMate.com pulls the icebreakers? i hope i can keep it as long as i can, plus it would be nice to know what all silver membership gives you.... and gold....

What happens when a male doesn't set Cupid preferences ? Will he get more matches for less setting input ? If I do a search on women excluding those who are married or attached I still get all those who "Prefer not to say". If a man has a profile full of these then does he fit any woman's cupid settings? By the way, it would be good if AsianMatchMate.com also sorted the distance problems. As far as you're concerned I'm still 122Km away from where I live - how would that affect newbies getting emails from "local" women?
| |||
|
So far so good although I am getting a lot of men from "over the pond" and the usual where do you live, do you live alone and when can I fuck you? it's all good. I thank you so much I enjoy getting the attention.
| |||
|
Ugh...hmmm I don't actually know. Lemme ask what we are doing with Prefer Not To Say. Can you give me the member name that had that? There has to be something he matched up on. I am pretty confident that is what has been happening, however. Emails and the like being sent to men who are not full matches, who only match instead in a couple of categories. I have seen flirts show up in my flirts sent, that I know I didn't send, that were sent to men who very clearly do not match may racial preference. I also received a reply email to an icebreaker, in which he tells me he does not match my racial preference (which I have clearly indicated as only Caucasian in my cupid settings, and my icebreaker message, just to be safe.) I can't yet see his profile however, to see what box he checked, since he is a new member. If Icebreakers are being sent to men who do not totally, completely and FULLY match a womans cupid settings, this needs to be made clear to us, so that we can adjust our messages, and possibly re-evaluate our participation! nothing I put in an icebreaker got accepted, even after repeated tries. I got pissed and quit trying. Legally, it's questionable. Morally, disgusting. Personally... I like it. So far so good here. Though one guy was a bit farther then what I thought my cupid setting was set for. But oh well, it is easy enough to email and let them know they are really too far for anything to happen. Seemed like a nice enough guy though. I am loving the silver. I can email without having to worry about the 10 email limit now, if I get going with a good conversation through email with someone.

I think this is discriminatory and sexist!!! Even though I'm looking primarily for females, going by the number of guys that visit my profile I still am an asset to your "bottom line" of attracting PAYING guys!!! If it's fun, exciting or pleasurable...it's either illegal, bad for you or fattening!!!
| |||
|
ur 100 percent right
| |||
|
I agree.. to me this is no more discriminatory than 'ladies nite' at the bar. Even the Hedonist weekends do NOT allow single men on the trips as they know they would have 500 horny men and about 10 women running for their lives. The odds are already so many men to women (probably over 100 - 1 if you count the out of state guys asking women), that this may... MAY... bring more women in, and some of the IB messages are VERY helpful and it may bring a better time to everyone. Just my opinion.

Yes, anytime. Go to : My Account - Preferences - Icebreaker preferences. There you can disable, edit, and modify the flirt/hotlist/friend invite settings. Ryan, I'm afraid your statement is entirely misleading. For the past two or so days I’ve been trying unsuccessfully to change the text. I'm not exactly sure what is the cause for not working (bug, some other insects or even flying monsters) but the fact that this option is UNAVAILABLE for use at present time is totally annoying. ~~I may be no better, but at least I am different.~~ Jean-Jacques Rousseau ~~Stop by my adventure land ~♑~Reambiguating the world~♑~

When the offer initially popped up, I responded "Not Now" but will I have a chance to accept at a later time? It's never popped up again so I figured it was a one time deal. Will there be another opportunity to accept?

I would love it but my message was not approved. I'v changed it three times and still not approved. So I guess its just more crap!

The offer is still open, to join the scheme go to: My Profile - Preferences - Icebreaker Preferences. From there at anytime you can you can opt in/opt out/edit Icebreaker/update flirt, hotlist, friend invite settings. it was actually: My Profile Cupid Preferences Icebreakers but i did get there. now it's been 3 times to get my Ice Breaker message approved! there is nothing objectionable or personal in the message. i am frustrated. first it was the message rejected, then the pics didn't upload but the message was ok, then the pics DID upload and they did not approve the previously approved message.

I took a similar approach to Homebird with a message that conveys the email is a starting point and I haven't seen their profile yet. So far, I've not noticed a negative difference. I've had a couple of responses to the icebreaker (it was shown in their reply) and they were much nicer emails that the run-of-the-mill ones I normally get out of the blue. I have noticed, though,that the people weren't matches on some key points so I'm going to review my cupid settings in case it was my doing and see what happens then. One pleasant thing I haven't noticed is I'm getting more views to my profile than before - I hadn't registered that Silver members come higher in searches than Standard? That puzzled me for a few days until I worked out how it was happening. I would say overall I like it so far. Please don't just pull it if there's a bit of negative feedback. There are so many tweaks that could be done to make it work and still do what was intended. I hope that's the route that will be taken. NG PS Happy to read that it IS still Lifetime Membership for as long as our icebreaker is active. I too was puzzled by the renewal date. "What's wrong with comfort and efficiency?" "Nothing but no-one wants to f**k it."

thanks for the help! it was actually: My Profile Cupid Preferences Icebreakers but i did get there. now it's been 3 times to get my Ice Breaker message approved! there is nothing objectionable or personal in the message. i am frustrated. first it was the message rejected, then the pics didn't upload but the message was ok, then the pics DID upload and they did not approve the previously approved message.

YW Wilder. Sorry had I noticed I would have mentioned this... your problem is that you have to have a profile photo in order to qualify for the scheme (no stipulation as to the nature of the photo) If you decide to upload a photo you need to wait for it to be approved before re-submitting your Icebreaker.
| |||

i am playing hell getting a Profile pic approved. it keeps saying these aren't my tits! these are my tits, 100% guaranteed. HELP. *sigh*

Even though it looks like the women could get bombarded with more unwanted and misdirected emails by using icebreakers, I think when written with some thought, an icebreaker email can still help you spend less time separating the genuine replies from the disingenuous ones. Simply writing a more personal icebreaker email and including something in your profile like "please put (blank) in subject line of emails to show you've read my profile" should allow you to find your important emails and delete the guys who obviously don't listen more quickly while encouraging a few more genuine replies.

Ryan if we missed signing up for icebreaker will there be another chance to sign up. This was a question asked to me the other day? hugs V Become a blog watcher sweet_vm

Thank you for the upgrade. I have gotten lots of new emails. Some live in my state and some don't. I'm just glad to welcome all new comers to a wonderful chat site for adults to find friends. Thanks for the Silver Ball....

Not sure if the Icebreaker is a great idea or not. I have mixed feelings about it. I like the idea of sending email to members that are new. However, I really hate that everyone that is sent an icebreaker is now HOTLISTED by AsianMatchMate.com for me. No matter what I do to change the setting it still hotlists them. ANNOYING these poor people think I am really interested in them and now emailing me ALOT and getting upset when I don't respond since AsianMatchMate.com hotlisted them to my profile. It is misleading. Trying to explain I didn't hotlist them is just too much work for me. I am about to turn off Icebreakers. [image] “I welcome this opportunity of pricking the bloated bladder of lies with the poniard of truth”
| |||
|
nice now lets see if any ladies will send me an icebreaker . This is going to be a big part of the problem Ryan.... guys seriously think we 'send' them to them as you have noted and do not get that it is randomly sent to them based on YOUR decision of if they match our Cupid Settings or not, and many do NOT match at all.
| |||
|
I'm equivocal. While for my purposes I like having the Silver upgrade and I don't mind replying to the extra emails, I wonder if it doesn't set up guys for a disappointment. I have to imagine they are going to think the women aren't "real" if they don't write back, which if they are deluged they may not.
| |||
|
OMFG! This is absolutely one of THE MOST retarded things AsianMatchMate.com has ever come up with!! So much of this concept relies on (both men & women's) profiles being filled out correctly. (For example, if I get a flirt, I normally don't pay much attention to it, UNLESS it comes from a Gold or Silver member. Those profiles are the most likely to be legit, since those are paid membership levels. Additionally, if a woman wants to be given a complimentary upgrade, (which should be bronze so it is not confused with a PAID SILVER membership,) shouldn't SHE be the one who initiates contact with the other member?? ...whether that is via hotlist, email, or flirt?? If I receive some type of recognition from someone, naturally, I assume SHE sent it and SHE may be interested. I know I'm not the only guy on here who thinks and will think this way. Back in the FRAUD THREAD within this blog, you heard several earfuls from the participants here (many practically begging) that super flirt be done away with, new members denied the opportunity to flirt & hotlist, and downright outrage concerning the number of FAKE-ass profiles on here. Now, after a period of time & certain activity, an automatic silver upgrade will be bestowed upon random women. YOU PEOPLE CAN'T EVEN SPOT a FAKE PROFILE with a description of a black woman with a white woman's picture on it!!??!! WTF?? How in the world do you reasonably think you folks can set up some kind of automated algorithm to determine what a legitimate user is... when the FACTS are that your human elements in the process can't even get it right?? And, what criteria will be used to determine when a complimentary silver membership is no longer applicable? What gets that taken away? When does it expire? Or is it granted in perpetuity? Further, you have instantly DILUTED the value of the Silver Membership; congratulations. Why don't you people take some of these off the wall ideas & run them by the crowd on here before you implement them? You're going to get better feedback on what will & won't work from the amount of people who are here, actually using the site, instead of whatever is dreamed up within the think tank bubble as the latest & greatest idea of the week. Also, I realize that the site is trying to draw women, which in turn draws men. But, isn't this also a little slap in the face to our long time couples members who are silver members? Doesn't it say to those couples who WON'T be getting an auto-silver upgrade, "thanks for being here, but we do NOT value your participation here enough to recognize you with a complimentary upgrade." (I won't even get started on the fact that y'all also pissed on & discriminated against all the "silver men" on here, since it's well known there is a long standing double standard for men & women. Really now, would it be so complicated to put this new scheme in to the context of a BRONZE membership, instead of diluting the value of the silver membership?? At least then, we could tell who was auto-upgraded (and possibly still a fake) vs. the legitimate member who forked over the cash to be a paid silver member. And too, it would make it more discernable to "us men" when the women actually initiate with us instead of the automated thing!!?? The idiocy of this site never ceases to amaze me in how easy it is to f#ck up a good thing, something that works, and turn it in to a pile of sh!t instantly.

Dang wish all the ladies had a smile like that/ but I think the icebreaker should come from the men . because most women willnt sent a guy a icebreaker .so make it harder to try and meet like minded ppl I am all for people that are 'like minded' meeting... but I am trying to be as honest as possible here. I have seen way too many 'this is a sex site' blogs and messages to know that there is a plethora of people that think sex means f*cking and nothing else and if we don't meet we should leave the site. WRONG!! People that like sex do NOT have to have sex with anyone and everyone, most are very picky about their partner. Everyone is NOT here to 'meet' many are bloggers, writers in the erotic stories section, voyeurs, and exhibitionists. READING PROFILES IS ESSENTIAL!!! So again, even with the Ice Breaker program there is no definite 'match' as it is automated not a human being choosing the recipients.
| |||
|
PLEASE READ EVERYTHING!! The 'ladies' don't 'send' you an Ice Breaker. If you match the cupid settings the SITE CHOOSES if you get one or not. . This is going to be a big part of the problem Ryan.... guys seriously think we 'send' them to them as you have noted and do not get that it is randomly sent to them based on YOUR decision of if they match our Cupid Settings or not, and many do NOT match at all. You've legitimised the site sending out spam by allowing them to use your profile name.
| |||
|
Why wouldn't a man who's just joined the site believe that you had sent the icebreaker? Or hotlisted him, or flirted with him (particularly these because he doesn't get an email - he doesn't even get a chance to communicate with you but you appear to be interested in him)? He can't even view your profile, he can't even see if you are a match? So what do you expect him to think? You've legitimised the site sending out spam by allowing them to use your profile name. As for him not being able to read my profile, I DID put in my ice breaker part of my profile. I have had it go to Gold members, and I can't read THEIR profile. lol I think that this is all part of why the discussion is being had as to try and tweak it and fix the problems with the program to lessen the false ideas and work it into something that does actually work. As for spam, that is no more spam to me than guys who send out the same email to 100 women in hopes that one answers. I have seen them and noted that what they wrote shows they never even saw my profile and had friends with the exact same email from the exact same guy because were live near each other.
| |||
|
That is a BIG part of the problem if you haven't noticed. Many women are now complaining about that, I personally am not complaining but I was explaining to the man that asked the question. He made the comment "let's see if the ladies will send men an ice breaker' and I wanted him to know, as it IS confusing to anyone receiving it, that we didn't actually look at their profile and choose them. It is a major MAJOR problem with this program. I have seen them and noted that what they wrote shows they never even saw my profile and had friends with the exact same email from the exact same guy because were live near each other. But... the icebreaker is sent on your behalf without you reading his profile and it's a generic email sent out to possibly many men (you won't even know how many). As you say, it's no more (or less) spam than men sending out the same email to 100 women. Do two wrongs now make a right?
| |||
|
Did you appreciate the spam? I imagine not. Did you appreciate an email from a man who hadn't read your profile? I imagine not. Did you appreciate an email that was identical to emails that he'd sent to other women? I imagine not. But... the icebreaker is sent on your behalf without you reading his profile and it's a generic email sent out to possibly many men (you won't even know how many). As you say, it's no more (or less) spam than men sending out the same email to 100 women. Do two wrongs now make a right? Second, I DO NOT RUN The fucking site, so bitching at me gets you nowhere. Third, ASK ALL THE OTHER WOMEN this question and get the hell off my personal back. Fourth, I didn't give a SHIT about those emails because I am an EXHIBITIONIST and so anyone and EVERYONE is able and I WANT them to look at my cam. The more the MERRIER and I said that in the post that you freaking quoted. I AM NOT COMPLAINING about those emails. Got it now? So I saw NOTHING WRONG with emails that I got. I hoped they watched my show!!!

HEADS UP FOLKS.. NOT EVERYONE ON HERE IS LOOKING TO MEET!!! SEX COMES IN MANY FORMS AND MY FORM IS EXHIBITIONISM. There is no pre-requist that I be interested in meeting you, want to get to know you, or even be interested in you PERIOD for me to get on cam and do my thing!! Screw anyone that says those are the only reasons you must be here for or that you can't email someone unless for those reasons. VOYEURS that watch me ROCK!! Does anyone have a screen shot of what an icebreaker looks like in a guy's inbox? Or if you don't want to share private information like that, can someone tell us whether there's anything attached to the icebreaker that explains how and why it's being sent? Does it look different or does it just look like a regular email?

We can understand you have a difference of opinion, but just because you use a bigger font doesn't mean you're more correct or your opinion is given more weight than everyone else. If a NEW guy gets an auto email from a woman on here, he's going to think the sender is interested in him. He won't know what an Icebraker is. Further, goody for you that you put something along the lines of "this is automated" in your wording --bless your heart. Now seriously, not everyone will do that & there will be confusion. I think my man "FullOn4U" is right: This is just another way for AsianMatchMate.com to sucker in the new guys & the unknowing when they receive an automated mail (SPAM) in their in box. Guy sees it, they think the lady is interested and or they are down to f#ck. By entering in to this IceBreakers, you ladies are allowing AsianMatchMate.com to spoof & spam the members from your account; plain & simple. But, the AsianMatchMate.com plan is to sucker these guys in to upgrading to a paid membership, so they can contact you, see your pics, & profile... because you contacted them (automated or not,) they think you're interested. Here is a novel concept and old fashioned concept: If you're interested in someone, initiate contact yourself. THERE! That solves this whole thing. I still maintain this dilutes the value of having a paid silver membership. I'll bet later this year, we'll see AsianMatchMate.com introduce a supposedly "better" diamond or platinum level membership to further differentiate among the now diluted silver memberships. This whole thing is a crock & a scheme you participants are complicit in that allows AsianMatchMate.com to sucker in (new) guys to a paid membership. Smooth move y'all.

Do two wrongs now make a right?
| |||
|
Does anyone have a screen shot of what an icebreaker looks like in a guy's inbox? Or if you don't want to share private information like that, can someone tell us whether there's anything attached to the icebreaker that explains how and why it's being sent? Does it look different or does it just look like a regular email? I asked Ryan that when this 1st started, he said then they would appear the same as regular mail. Hey Ryan, I tried to tweak my icebreaker and it was not approved. I only added a sentence or two to my old one and there's no advertising, phone numbers or anything. Obviously your approval process needs some enhancements considering the number of women saying their messages are not approved. How is it done now? Is there a computer scanning them or a human being? We need some better information as to why someone is declined. I have a guess on the phrase, but if so, it's verifying for me that a human doesn't review these because only a computer would be stupid enough to take it out of context. Also, can your programmers please resize the text box where we input the icebreaker message? It's a pain to work with. This is what I had submitted: Hi! Welcome to AsianMatchMate.com. You received this email because AsianMatchMate.com thinks you match my cupid preferences. I hope you enjoy your membership here and find what you are looking for. Feel free to check out my profile. If you are a standard member and can't see it, you can visit my blog (Community, blogs, search for my user name), which includes a copy of my profile as well as some of my pictures. If you think you match what I am looking for and live close to me, feel free to drop me an email (but please be patient, because I get a lot of mail!). I am looking for a local fuck buddy, but I have to get to know the person I choose first, so please approach me nicely and intelligently. If you don't choose to approach me, I wish you well in your search and welcome you to the site!
| |||
|
I resubmitted it and it was approved, thus verifying that the approval process is illogical. Please improve this.
| |||
|
Hey Buxy, this is a very widespread problem and really does need answering. I asked Ryan what happens is the new male joiner doesn't fill in their Cupid Settings or 'prefers not to say' as I suspect he then gets matched with you regardless of your settings. If this is the case he is getting more matches for less input which can't be right. At the time even Ryan did not know the answer to this question and I have heard nothing more. Also there seems to be a widespread glitch on the approval of IBs and updates which are intermittently being denied for no reason and the standard denail message being sent, the same exact same message is sometimes being approved after 2/3 attempts and sometimes not at all. Hey Ryan, are you there ? We really need answers on these points as it is really messing up the scheme for a lot of participants.
| |||
|
This seems like a stupid idea to me if messages are being sent to guys who don't match the ladies cupid preferences. Still, nothing suprises me with this site anymore!
| |||
|
I'm happy with it! Thanks!
| |||
|
I'm finding it ok except for two things. 1. As others have said, it is no use incebreakers being sent to people who don't match cupid settings. The matching needs to be tweaked to ONLY those who match and if they don't match on anything, don't send it. And I'm including prefer not to say in that. (Why not stress the importance to newbies to fill out their profile/preferences, then we wouldn't have loads of PNTS's. ) 2. As a standard member with 'perving rights' I could view basic profile of new members from day one. Now as Freebie Silver I can't. That makes very little sense. On the whole, i think the system is a good thing. I just hope women using it adopt the idea of saying what the email is or the site starts telling me what it is NG "What's wrong with comfort and efficiency?" "Nothing but no-one wants to f**k it."

Thanks for the update! As for this blog, Community has posted another blog that he is busy learning some new duties and won't be back till approx. March 1. I was hoping he would at least peek in.

This whole thing is a scam aimed at new male members. See here's why..... new male members will get an email from women who are in the icebreaker scheme, and then the new male members will be told they need to upgrade to silver or gold in order to read the email, message. Just another way of getting the guys to cough up money!

i Was previously a member by the name of bougoureau and they gave me silver, but what they fail to mention is that if you have created an account on passion.com., they have copied the information to A F F . When I went to delete the account on A F F did they tell me that the 2 accounts are linked-NO! So, I deleted the A F F account and then the webpage of passion.com.came up and stated that that account was deleted too !!!! which was not my intention since I signed up on passion.com.and not A F F ...so beware ladies !! have since lost all my points, friends, emails and my blog not to mention my write ups and groups that I belonged to. Thanks for the silver membership. But I cant see the profiles of the men who respond for a few days. I think that part could work better.

I like to join this ICEBREAKER promotion, and let you send my profile to men that match my cupid matches. Thanks. "Girls are like phones. We love to be held, talked too but if you press the wrong button you'll be disconnected!" - Anonymous

that is simply not true. A standard member can receive emails and respond to received emails. The upgrade would come in with viewing the profile. What you say may be true for single females or couples? I know this for a fact because when my profile went standard a while ago on here, i received an email and was told i needed to upgrade in order to reply to the message that was sent to me.

If you get the required number of 'views' you can earn the right to view profiles and respond.
| |||
|
You are correct, but as we all know single male members very rarely, if ever, get the number of required profile views, to gain the right to view profiles and respond to emails.....Ergo, single male members will be told by the site they need to pay to upgrade. You reference the you let your gold expire~ When I allowed my silver to expire there was an "adjustment period" (of several days/almost a week) that Nothing associated with my profile worked correctly!Then,and still now I get the upgrade page if I attempt a profile view or send a first mail Or go over the mail replies limit. When I stopped paying to "play" here...I've had no problems what so ever in responding to emails sent to me...ever...going on three years now...I did hear that they put some restrictions on new members about two years ago...something along the lines of a two week "grace period" where Standards could not reply to emails...but I think those went out the window with the new email system...your mileage may vary...
| |||
|
The site must have changed this for icebreaker messages then......as i said earlier, when my profile went to standard membership a while ago on here, i got an email from another member. When i tried to reply to the email i could'nt, and i was told by the site i needed to upgrade to silver or gold in order to reply.

Yes i am a Gold member now, i'm talking about my experience on the site over a year ago, when i let my membership lapse back to standard,..... before i upgraded to my current Gold.

What she wrote in the blog was that she opened a new account to get the IB.Ryan has mentioned the Sites stance on existing members opening new accounts to get the promotion,both in the group and again briefly in this thread. Quoted from the support blog~ Hi, I'm having an issue with the icebreaker promotion going on. I'm using a new profile, but I've been on A F F for a little over a year now, with a different profile. How come I'm not offered the icebreaker promotion? Is there something else I need to do? Thanks. > SiteSupport replies on 2/12/2012 11:06 pm: Thank you for your Post!! ok i was getting responses from new members but i could not contact them only the gold could. i got the same notice i am on xmatch and on both sites i have every thing the way it should be. every thing is turned on and pics are up and verified. so what and the hell are they doing i think this is a form of fraud on the sites part. they give it to you then they take it back with out warning then have the balls to ask you to upgrade.it's all about the money i think.

Well it appears to me they discontinued the program and just yanked it all. So apparently free lifetime membership equals two months? Alternatively somebody fucked up big time and accidentally shut them off. They NEED to get someone on here to tell us what the heck is going on and let us know if this was deliberate or accidental.
| |||

I also got the revoke message - and haven't touched the setting after I got my silver balls. So as it was for life, did I now then reach my expiry date??? Fix the thing and fast... This was YOUR OFFER and we have accepted it and followed the rules. Do your part... please... Same here. I hadn't been on the site at all during the past two days and I certainly haven't changed any settings. I'm presuming (and hoping) it's a glitch as I would like to think that, if the promo is revoked, we would be told properly. Or am I being naive? lol I hope someone can let us know please. NG (One note ladies, I did notice when you go in to check and 'reactivate' it, it populates all the tick boxes again for winks etc. Hmm... I wonder... ) "What's wrong with comfort and efficiency?" ... yep - but it shouldn't have been deactivated in the first place... The message and the page where the link took were rude, accusing the member of breaking the rules. i got 2 emails in succession. one terminated my silver and the next reinstated it before i even knew either had happened. i figured a glitch. hey, it's free. i ain't bitchin'. i am sure websites have technical issues but it appears they have addressed it? By accepting their offer to activate the icebreaker I'm also accepting them use my profile to make this site look more real, and perhaps, if a new standard male member, they have to buy silver or golden balls as otherwise they are not able to read the message to my understanding. They get more money but lose nothing. And I have no idea to whom the icebreaker is sent... would be great to know! For a while in fact the default sent items mailbox has been deactivated too... I have to tick the box for every mail I send separately. I'm bitching as been on this site soon for 7 seven years, probably the only woman on this site in Luxembourg for so long... and an active member all this time. Every now and then some general trouble here... therefore gave up my golden balls years ago. And really didn't like the tone of those messages I got now. This is a company, not government office... Mine isn't fixed yet, although a friend's who's went off the same time is back. I can understand tech problems, they happen, but would also have liked a response or an email to anyone affected but hey ho, I'm still awaiting a reply to an email about something else sent 4 days ago so I don't know why I'm surprised. Does anyone have a count for how many of their IB messages are going to each of the Gold, Silver, and/or Standard members? I would be interested in knowing how they are dispursing them througout the site.

I am getting messages in my inbox stating that my icebreaker has been removed and i never changed my settings, my silver membership has been revoked and i'm not sure why! I never changed my cupid preferences nor did i deactivate my icebreaker. I'm really displeased with this site right now. If you could please reinstate my silver membership because i never changed anything it would be greatly appreciated. I have updated my icebreaker 9 times and it's still being rejected!!!! SilkyFine25

Damn! Is it March 2013 already cuz my icebreaker is gone and so is my silver ball! WTF?!?!?
| |||
|
It must be 2014, cuz my free membership vanished w/o notice. It was changed once before, but it was fixable and I was notified by email. Now, writing to customer service only got me a bug number, but no help. I did my part and i feel totally ripped off and used by AsianMatchMate.com. I've taken my pics down and will probably close my account. Now that my email is limited, I cant even tell the guys I was emailing with, where I went. I had 160,331 profile views at last count. Betcha it will fall to zero very soon. Enough is enough.

Now theyve changed the free memberships to Gold and mine deactivated last night for no reason. Guess it's not fixed.. hope somebody reads this soon and gets back to us!

I see you still haven't fixed the problem of the autorenew not working with the icebreaker memberships. My gold ball was pulled with no notice (though I had noted the expiration date of 11/28 and expected it). Would be really nice if you would fix this problem, since it's obviously a site bug.
