An up and lots of downs kinda week
An up and lots of downs kinda week That is the way my week went it seems. A good couple of ups but more downs! A very good friend lost his mother early this week. After a battle with cancer his mother finally passed away. My heart and condonlences go out to him. Hugs sweetheart. I had to go to the hospital this week for a follow up from my cancer scare almost a year ago. The check up went ok on Wed. then as I was getting dressed I asked the dr if something that had been going on was something I need to worry about. She said that it was probably nothing but wanted to go ahead and do an ultrasound to make sure. So along with making me an appointment for a mammogram she set up an ultrasound appt......for FRIDAY...two days later. Well....mini me's dad sent me an email at 6:01 that evening to let me know that the camp mini me is going to needs for her to have a physical. No biggie usually....but since she was leaving on Sun...kind tight schedule! Called dr, they said that since her last physical was 2 days shy of being a year I might wanna check with insurance to make sure it was ok and not deny it. Well that's where the fun started. Insurance informed me that since I am not the one on the insurance I have no rights to any information pertaining to her insurance benefits. Even though I am her custodial parent. So called ex...told him. Told him to call insurance company to get it fixed. Needless to say she got an appt for Friday. So had to make my appt trip alone (yes I had Pony offer to go along). So had to drink alot of water for ultrasound. The plan was mammogram at 11:30, ultrasound at 1:00 and check with dr at 2:00. So....really looking forward to getting my boobs flattended while trying to keep my legs crossed while my eyes are floating!!!! Well, they did ultrasound first! The tech ended up doing an outside one and then did an internal one as well. Then they did the ultrasound. Off to see the dr. (This is the point where I REALLY wish I had taken Pony up on her offer to come along) The doctor had looked over the ultrasound and found a 2cm fibroid in my uterus. His first words were "We usually would recommend a hysterectomy to women with a history like yours". Ok.... So, tell me...How long do I have to be on restrictions? Cuz I go back to work 7/25, lol. He ended up doing a biopsy (really hate those surprise biopsys) with no meds. Lucky me! Made for an even longer drive home. So, go back on Friday the 13th for a check on the biopsy results as to whether it is cancerous. And then we will go from there. I am ready. Of course....may have to fuck like a bunny on crack before I do the deed! Just sayin.... |

Usually fibroids are benign. I will paste from the web md place ... Uterine fibroids are benign lumps that grow inside the uterus. Symptoms include heavy periods, cramping, painful sex, and an urge to urinate. Uterine fibroid treatments include hysterectomy, embolization, and hormone therapy. So it assuming the small growth they saw is indeed a uterine fibroid, it is not cancerous but still a major pain in the tuckus. It would explain some things too. A hysterectomy would get rid of the fibroids and any concerns over cervical abnormalities because they take that too. Ovaries are optional. The 'usual' down time for a hysterectomy is 6 weeks. Though I felt fine that same week. OK it made me crazy to be in the hospital overnight, LOL. I did feel a bit more tired than usual but I had little discomfort. The hard part for you is NO lifting. None. You can check out books but you cannot shelve books. You can also wait to schedule surgery for your fall break or winter. If it's not cancerous, it is not a rush. More later. Hugs!!!

Well over the last 4 years have had too many "precancerous" scares so...almost at the point of just doing the hysterectomy and being done.

It is scary. I am tired of the nonstop, not knowing. Precancerous cells, fibroids, masses....so gonna just do it. I was fixed years ago, happy with the two daughters I have, and no plans to have more. Godd luck! Hugs
