I looked

I looked up into the night sky and watched the cresent moon descend below the horizon, followed closely by Venus or Mars or was it Jupiter.



I saw the plow, the big dipper, and watched a shooting star flash overhead. I marvelled at the wonders of the Universe and hoped that there was a God somewhere to take credit for the things I had observed.

Yet nothing in the night sky compares to the wonders that surround us every day. The wonders of the human mind, the wonders of the human body, where my mind can often stray!

I should have responded to this long ago, but my answer might have been different then... whether God exists or not may be immaterial, existing for those who believe and not existing for others... it would be nice to believe in a good God and life after death and everything but maybe it's niceness makes that appealing... or is it the appealing that makes it a reality.
