If WINKS were Dollars...

I would not need to work.

Seems like the winks are used so much on this site. I would like your opinion on winks. I know they are considered to be "ice breakers".

Do you think that someone has to acknowledge all the winks they receive?

I get a lot of winks daily and I used to answer them all, even if it was just a plain "Thank you for the wink, however I think we are too far from eachother", "Thank you for the wink but the age difference is too great" etc... I always followed it with a "Good luck on your search". I find that now I do a lot more deleting the winks than answering them. (And a lot of them are from paying members, why can't they just write a quick email, might get a better response)

What do you think? Should a person have to thank another person for just sending a wink?

pureplay2755 : I guess that could be a reason, one of them. I just don't understand the winks from the UK, California, Japan etc... not when I am from New York. The winks from people COMPLETELY out of my cupid settings just get deleted now, since I am a standard member. Why waist my time or my limited emails, just to say No, thank you.

PS: pureplay2755 has it been 3 months already???? LOL

I think an acknowledgment is welcome, but not required. Sometime I will wink at someone because as I came across the profile at in my last few minutes, Winking someone allows me to keep track of the profile which I can then go back to and write.

Only the submissive or those not really interested send winks.

KELLY696969 You are right, cut and paste works - I just didn't want to send such a general "No Thank you" but yes, it is a time saver.

Guys: I would like your opinion, if a woman is not interested in you - DO you want to know the reason? Or is a simple "No Thanks" sufficient?

I wanted to thank you all for your comments. I decided to address the 39 winks I received this weekend. It took me exactly one hour to say "Thank you for the wink but... Good luck on your search" 39 times.

I do have quite a few people on my "blocked list" because some do not take a "No thank you" well and continue to wink and/or email. I always give the reason why I am not interested in a person. That's me just being honest.

Or I may block a person just to stop any future "wasting of my time". I know the filter thing works on email but to be honest, some of my cupid settings are a little flexible so I turned off that feature.

Just my advice, if you are a paying member - just send and email to a person instead of a wink since most of them get ignored by women.

    Quoting  :

Right now I have 25 Winks, most are from men that I would not be interested in because of their age and/or location - what do I do, just delete the ones I am not interested in? Should I really thank them for the wink?

I tried looking at the point of view, thinking of these winks as if they were real-life winks. Let's say I was having coffee at Starbucks and a 60 year old man or an 18 year old boy winked at me from his table, what would I do? I know I would just ignore him. I might even just get up and leave if I thought they were being too annoying and I could no longer enjoy my coffee.

So, do I ignore the clearly "unwanted" winks?
